How long have you been working in wood?

Started in woodworking when young, building a soapbox racer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After enlisting in the Air Force I got away from it, but slowly started back into cabinet building and general woodworking after being discharged and employed by a steamship/container company. Did not start lathe turning until after retirement - 2005. Love it, and plan several courses with Dale Nish in Utah.

Where or how did you learn how to do this?

Self taught by reading quite a lot from different artisans.

Who are your influences?

Dale Nish and Dick Sing.

Do you have a favorite method of working/type of wood, etc.?

No favorite way of turning yet, but enjoy making small articles. I use mainly exotic woods from Africa, and Central and South America which includes Ebony, Bocote, Spalted Maple, Holly, Pink Ivory, Cocobolo, Black Acacia, and Chechen.
